I’m a creative person who lives in the Netherlands. That’s why I choose an education that prepares me for a profession where I can apply my creativity. For example, combining visual and graphic design. Nimeto is a great start to achieve my professional and creative goals. I study RPC, which loosely translates to design, presentation and communication. As a creative person, I find inspiration in my study, and find great pleasure in developing my skills in design and graphical presentation work. My aim is to work hard to achieve my goals, looking for new challenges and to use things around me that inspire me for my work.
Working together was important for this project. I did this with Anne Klok and Amy van der Horst (both fellow students). The assignment was to make a new concept for the new products of H&M. The fellow designer of this product was Marc Newson. biomorphism is thinking in soft flowing lines, brightness, transparencies and absence of sharp edges. We had the idea to combine these things with forms from the undersea world. In the undersea world live special plants and animals. Everything moves very slowly, as soft flowing lines. Marc Newson uses all of these assumptions in his designs.
We’ve brought all the organic forms together that are inspired from the undersea world. Every form in the undersea world is different. Nothing is the same. Each form is unique. We’ve choose to let the shape style the same, but made sure that they never look the same.
We’ve choose the colour mint because H&M is fairly basic, but always want to be up-to-date. Our intention was to emphasize this by using the bright, fresh mint colour.
The assignment was to think about a concept for an e-commerce company. This company has its focus on selling ‘Cradle to Cradle’ products to consumers. The products are made from materials that can return to technical or biological cycles.
The concept was about the reuse of materials. Like a blocks set to rebuilt new constructions. And when you are done with the product, you can take it apart to built a new construction. This way you can make new things with the same quality. I used the idea of the blocks set to make a graphic logo that is applied on all the communication expressions
“De Beschaving” is an annual festival held in the Botanical Gardens of the University of Utrecht. The assignment was to come with new ideas for the total look and feel for the festival. The theme of that year was ‘Wild Life’ in the broadest sense of the word and in line with the programming of the festival. For my concept I took the target audience (artists, nature lovers and scientists), colored powder from the Holi-Gaudi/Colour Run festivals and the theme ‘Wildlife’. The molecules form the science, the bright colors from Holi-Gaudi and the head of the lion (for the translation of ‘Wild Life’) are merged together in a dessin/pattern.
I used the dessin/pattern for all of the communication expressions.
